Our client requires a Designer with both UX and service design experience to join a large-scale modernization initiative. The successful resource will shape end-to-end user and service experiences, ensuring that digital solutions are intuitive, accessible, and aligned with user needs, business objectives, and policy requirements.

Within an Agile environment, the Designer will lead discovery and design activities, including user research, service design, interaction design, and usability evaluation. This includes defining current and future state service models, developing user journeys and service blueprints, and producing UX/UI design artefacts such as information architecture, user flows, wireframes, and interactive prototypes.

The successful proponent is NOT required to work onsite in Edmonton, Alberta; however, initial onboarding and key stakeholder meetings may require in-person attendance (at candidate’s expense). Following onboarding, work arrangements may be hybrid or fully remote, depending on the client’s operational needs and mutual agreement. All work must be completed during regular business hours. The client will not provide office space, desks, hardware, or software. Proponents must reside in Canada and ensure all work is performed within the country.

Edmonton, Alberta (Remote within Canada)

Mandatory Requirements
  • Minimum ten (10) years of progressive experience delivering UX, UI, and Service Design within complex enterprise environments, preferably within government, public sector, or similarly regulated organizations.
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience supporting digital transformation initiatives within government, public sector, crown corporations, or comparable environments.
  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in Interaction Design, Human Computer Interaction (HCI), Product Design, User Experience Design, Industrial Design, Graphic Design, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience designing end-to-end digital services using Human-Centred Design methodologies, including discovery, ideation, prototyping, and validation.
  • Demonstrated experience planning and conducting user research activities, including user interviews, usability testing, surveys, and other qualitative and quantitative research methods.
  • Demonstrated experience producing UX and service design deliverables, including personas, journey maps, service blueprints, information architecture, user flows, wireframes, and interactive prototypes.
  • Demonstrated experience designing responsive web applications and enterprise digital platforms, including experience working within complex business and service environments.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining enterprise design systems, including component libraries, design tokens, interaction standards, and accessibility guidelines.
  • Demonstrated experience applying accessibility standards (WCAG 2.2 AA or equivalent) throughout the design lifecycle.
  • Demonstrated experience working within Agile delivery teams and collaborating with cross-functional resources, including Product Managers, Business Analysts, Developers, Architects, and Quality Assurance.
  • Demonstrated experience facilitating stakeholder workshops, design thinking sessions, and collaborative discovery activities.
  • Demonstrated experience preparing production-ready design specifications and supporting implementation through design QA and collaboration with development teams.
  • Experience using modern design and collaboration tools such as Figma, Miro, FigJam, and Agile management platforms such as Jira or Confluence.
