Our client requires over 10 digital architects to support large-scale digital transformation initiatives by providing solution architecture leadership within cross-functional, agile delivery teams. Success in this role requires designing and guiding the iterative delivery of user-centric digital services, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture, technical standards, and modern software development practices. Architects require deep technical expertise combined with strong collaboration, leadership, and business acumen.
Work is remote within Canada.

Responsibilities
- Leading solution architecture for digital services by developing architectural plans, uncovering existing system context, assessing risks, and ensuring alignment with agile, user-centered design principles.
- Providing technical discovery, feasibility analysis, recommendations, and prototypes to support iterative implementation and informed decision-making.
- Guiding teams through implementation by defining integration approaches, target-state system boundaries, and opportunities to leverage shared platforms, components, and services.
- Supporting delivery through detailed solution design, code reviews, and hands-on contribution to development activities, including implementing user stories and technical tasks.
- Coaching and mentoring product teams, balancing delivery of functional requirements and technical debt while supporting continuous improvement of architecture practices.
- Communicating architectural concepts and decisions to technical and non-technical stakeholders through clear documentation, diagrams, and presentations, and contribute to standards, metrics, and service quality principles
Mandatory Requirements
- Bachelor degree in Computer Science or related field of study equivalencies will be considered.
- 5 years demonstrated experience leading cross-functional agile product teams, providing architectural direction, and mentoring developers and technical leads.
- 5 years’ experience as a software architect, leading the design and delivery of enterprise-scale solutions using modern development stacks in complex organizational environments.
- 2 years’ experience working with teams that also apply UX design, service design, design thinking, or human-centered design approaches.
- 4 years proven ability to define and communicate solution architecture for large-scale systems, including integrations, modernization strategies, and cloud-native design patterns.
- 5 years strong communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and influence decision-making.
Desirable Requirements
- 4 years’ experience applying secure development practices and managing identity and access using role-based or attribute-based access control and Zero Trust Architecture principle.
- 4 years’ experience designing and managing APIs, including RESTful services and system integrations
- 2 years’ experience implementing CI/CD pipelines with automated testing, deployment, and observability.
- 5 years’ experience incrementally transforming existing legacy systems into modern digital services across multiple releases.
- 2 years’ experience with containerization, orchestration, and infrastructure-as-code practices for cloud or hybrid environments
- 2 years’ experience working with both relational and non-relational databases, including schema design and performance optimization.
- 4 years’ experience working within public sector digital service frameworks or enterprise architecture standards.
