Our client requires an intermediate business process consultant with experience in Canada’s civil aircraft maintenance industry to update the specifications for four (4) occupations: Aviation Systems Technician; Avionics Technician; Aircraft Structures Technician; and Aircraft Maintenance Superintendent.

The Business Process Consultant is to provide detailed recommendations on variances in training and professional development between Canada’s civil aircraft maintenance industry to that of the aircraft maintenance technicians and superintendent of the RCAF. The resource must conduct a training plan evaluation and comparison, a review of current programs and initiatives; construct detailed work plans including evaluation frameworks and methodologies; and develop comprehensive evaluation reports containing findings, conclusions, and recommendations. The resource must also validate reports, consult stakeholders as required, and compile, analyze, and disseminate lessons learned and best practices. Furthermore, the resource must develop supporting materials, tools, and instruments necessary for the execution of this work.

The resource may establish a joint advisory group of aircraft maintenance technicians for each corresponding Transport Canada licensed occupation and its RCAF equivalent. This advisory group will provide occupational expertise through focus groups and materials, as well as validate and endorse final outputs.

This work will influence the Occupational Analyses decision space and support the adoption and integration of AME foundational training while safeguarding unique requirements. The

Duties include planning and facilitating working groups, compile occupational mappings, and produce a detailed gap analysis and recommendations.

Work is remote with possible onsite in capital region.

Only candidates meeting the listed mandatory requirements will be considered.

Mandatory Requirements
  • Hold a valid Transport Canada (TC) Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) licence, AME M category, with M2 rating or higher.
  • Minimum of 60 months (5 years) of aircraft maintenance experience within the last 144 months (12 years) in Canada’s civil aviation maintenance environment.
  • Experience performing First Line (daily operational) aircraft maintenance activities such as:
    • scheduled/unscheduled inspections;
    • aircraft servicing;
    • fault diagnosis, isolation, and rectification.
  • Experience performing Second Line (heavy/in-depth) aircraft maintenance activities such as:
    • major inspections;
    • structural repairs;
    • major component removal/replacement;
    • system-level troubleshooting;
    • major component overhaul/refurbishment.
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in project management and in overseeing all phases of the project.
  • Hold at least one aircraft type certificate.
Desirable Requirements
  • Experience working as a licensed AMEM2.
  • Experience leading, supervising, or managing multiple AMEs in an aircraft maintenance environment (e.g., lead hand, crew chief, foreman, maintenance manager).
  • Experience across both First Line and Second Line aircraft maintenance environments.
  • demonstrate experience across both Fixed Wing and Rotary Wing aircraft under the M2 rating.
  • Experience working with, for, or in direct support of the RCAF or military aviation organizations.
  • Experience contributing to occupational analyses, training plan development or evaluation, competency frameworks, logbooks, or standards mapping.
