Our client requires two (2) developers for applications programming and analysis tasks as part of a system development process as well as provide application support, maintenance and enhancements. Developers will apply a broad knowledge of various technical areas to foresee and rectify certain problem areas within technology or with a mix of technologies, but the focus is to ensure a certain business/functional use case is solved through technology solution delivery.
Resource will work hybrid working onsite 3 days per week and must be available to be onsite when requested for meetings. Frequency of meetings could be multiple times per month. Standard Hours of work are 08:15 – 16:30 Alberta time. Work must be done from within Alberta, due to network and data security issues. Resource is responsible to pay for travel to on-site meetings.

Responsibilities
- Write application code using C#, Visual Studio
- Coordinate with the public sector clients, analysts and/or interfaced systems clients and team members during testing, providing systems support and operational assistance.
- Design and implement MS-SQL databases.
- Liaise with business users to collect and analyze business and user requirements.
- Document business processes and applications.
- Produce systems design manuals.
- Produce technical and reference manuals.
- Conduct unit testing, system testing and integration testing.
- Ensure all application changes are developed, tested and implemented in a well-controlled manner using software release strategy
Mandatory Requirements
- Must meet or exceed one of the following:
- University graduation: Computer Science (CS), Computer Engineering (CE), Information Technology (IT) or related discipline & 4yr related experience;
- 2yr diploma: CS, CE, IT or related discipline & 6yr related experience;
- 1yr certificate: CS, CE, IT or related discipline & 7yr related experience;
- current active professional certification or accreditation in related discipline from a recognized issuing body & 7yr related experience.
- 5 years’ experience working as an Application Developer in a large enterprise IT environment utilizing .net, Microsoft Visual Studio, and source control tools.
- 5 years’ experience working in software development across the full software development lifecycle
- 5 years’ experience with MS SQL Server, Management Studio, stored procedures, data modelling, and reporting services
- 5 years’ experience using C# and Visual Studio.
- 5 years’ experience working with end-users – confirming requirements, supporting testing and maintain documentation
Desirable Requirements
- 3 years’ experience in the analysis, development, and integration of complex IT systems with a specific focus on the management of multiple data sources, web services, and legacy IT solutions.
- 3 years’ experience with Agile methodology.
- 3 years’ experience with GitHub.
- 3 years’ experience with unit testing and test-driven development tools.
