Our client requires multiple service designers to support large-scale digital transformation and service innovation initiatives within a public-sector environment. These roles focus on applying human-centred design, agile methodologies, and modern digital practices to improve end-to-end service delivery, enhance user experience, and drive operational efficiency. Candidates will collaborate within cross-functional teams to deliver user-focused, data-driven solutions that modernize programs and services.

Work is remote within Canada.

Edmonton, Alberta (Remote within Canada)

Responsibilities
  • Leading activities including user research, journey mapping, service blueprinting, and usability testing to enhance end-to-end service experiences.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional agile teams
  • Facilitating co-design workshops, stakeholder engagement, and change management activities to align business needs with user needs and drive adoption of new services.
  • Developing and validating prototypes, user stories, process maps, and service concepts, ensuring alignment with business goals and technical feasibility.
  • Defining and tracking service performance metrics, reporting, and continuous improvement strategies, supporting integration into operational environments and long-term service delivery models.
Mandatory Requirements
  • 2 years’ experience with service design research and outputs.
  • 3 years’ experience working in or for the public sector.
  • 2 years’ experience working within a cross-functional product team in an Agile environment
  • Must provide a portfolio
Desirable Requirements
  • 2 years’ experience planning, conducting, and analyzing findings from, creating representations of and reporting on qualitative field research.
  • 3 years’ experience planning, conducting, and analyzing findings from, creating representations of, and reporting on co-design workshops with service users.
  • 1 year experience planning, observing, analyzing, and reporting on usability testing of production or prototype systems.
  • 2 years’ experience working as a Service Designer in a cross-functional team to deliver a digital service, including concept testing and service prototyping.
  • 2 years’ experience working with change management, policy changes, staffing changes, or other organizational change as part of service transformation and implementation.
  • 2 years’ experience working within digital transformation initiatives within public sector environments.
  • 2 years working as a Service Designer on a project comparable in size and complexity to the service innovation, program review, and/or digital transformation projects.
