Our client requires a Sr. Financial Analyst to support financial accountability through the application of accounting standards, financial legislation, government policies, and internal controls. The position operates with a high degree of independence and professional judgement while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of financial operations.

Enhance security clearance is required.

Resource will primarily work remotely; however, based on business needs, the resource may be required to attend meetings or work sessions in office upon reasonable notice. At the time of providing such notice for these rare onsite meetings, the Client will advise of the distance (estimated to be within 3 hrs of the resource’s home) and expected duration of any such meetings or work sessions. However, time to travel and any associated expenses will be at no cost to the Client. Work must be done within Alberta. Standard Hours of work are 08:15 – 16:30 Alberta time.

Mandatory Requirements
  • 4 years’ demonstrated experience performing data analysis techniques to profile, validate, reconcile, troubleshoot, and analyze complex datasets.
  • 5 years’ work experience creating and using advanced Excel skills such as Pivot table, VLOOKUP etc.
  • 5 years’ experience using accounting principles and accounting standards or equivalent
  • 4 years’ experience with and knowledge of financial reporting ensuring the accuracy and reliability of financial statements, and using Microsoft Excel.
  • 4 years’ experience working with SharePoint online, including working with spreadsheets accessed simultaneously by multiple users while still being able to add, modify and filter
Desirable Requirements
  • CPA designation
  • Relevant post-secondary education in the areas of business administration, accounting or finance, Acceptable education includes degrees, diplomas and certificates.
  • 3 years’ experience applying financial audit, and/or financial controls, and/or financial reconciliation, and/or financial systems governance principles to large-scale data migration, data conversion, or ERP implementation projects.
  • 4 years’ experience using ERP systems such as SAP
  • 3 years’ experience working in accounting systems creating processes, managing budgets, and internal controls
  • 4 years with the ability to accurately calculate, post, correct, and manage accounting figures and financial records.
