Our client requires two (2) full stack developers for portfolio of public facing, data driven web applications focused on economic intelligence, investment analysis, and socio economic insights. Responsibilities include maintenance, modernization and enhancement of legacy applications across a broad variety of platforms. Critical technical expertise is required for using full stack development, cloud services, data integration, and visualization technologies. Success in this role requires adaptability across multiple development methodologies, complex data pipelines, and scalable web architectures.
Resource will work remotely but must be available to be on-site when requested for meetings. Standard Hours of work are 08:15 – 16:30 Alberta time. Work must be done from within Canada, due to network and data security issues. Resource is responsible to pay for travel to on-site meetings.
Edmonton, Alberta (Remote within Canada)
Responsibilities
- Develop frontend website architecture and backend web apps
- Maintain and upgrade software following implementation
- Work closely with product management teams and graphic designers for web features
- Handle automated testing and provide feedback during the software development phase
- Develop, write, modify, integrate and test Web site related code and Web application interfaces
- Conduct tests and analyze data to monitor quality, security, user interface experiences and to identify areas for improvement
- Participate in Web site architecture and design in collaboration with designers or clients
- Liaises with business units to ensure solutions meet current and strategic ministry needs and requirements.
- Execute internal testing (unit testing) and support UAT activities
- Support warranty activities as required.
- Support transition to operations (hand off) to support teams.
- Provides and maintains technical documentation of design and changes
- Participates in agile delivery meetings.
- Handle and fix production defects efficiently.
- Provide tracking and reporting of time and status on all work as required.
Mandatory Requirements
- 4 years’ designing and developing data pipelines and data applications using SQL.
- 6 years’ experience with architecting complex web-based component solutions with Stencil.JS.
- 6 years’ experience with developing data content application systems using Umbraco CMS.
- 6 years’ experience working with socio-economic data.
- 4 years hands-on experience performing and analyzing application, website, and API performance issues.
- 4 years supporting cloud services, such as Microsoft Azure, Azure SQL, Azure Data Factory, and Databricks.
Desirable Requirements
- 4 years CI/CD and software development lifecycle (SDLC) automation.
- 2 years designing and developing AI assistants for data-driven applications.
- 2 years’ experience in a public sector environment or an environment of equivalent size and complexity.
- 2 years integrating AI capabilities into applications.
- 2 years using modern AI development tools and technologies.
- 4 years working with data visualization tools and libraries (e.g., AmCharts, Tableau), and mapping libraries (e.g., Mapbox)
- 4 years working with front-end frameworks and technologies, including Bootstrap, CSS3, JavaScript, and web services (REST and SOAP APIs).
