Business Consultant (FOIP)

Our client requires a consultant to lead to support public safety and Emergency Services initiatives by documenting strategic plans and priorities, identifying projects to achieve departmental vision, and facilitating stakeholder workshops. Responsibilities include preparing and presenting strategies to various committees, managing risks and issues, and developing change management and communication plans. Additionally, the role requires creating business cases, providing quality assurance, and aligning multiple business cases while identifying and documenting dependencies. 

 

Resource will work onsite. 

Mandatory Requirements
  • Must meet or exceed one of the following combinations of education or certification and experience in the resource role: 
  • University degree in business, management or a related discipline and four years of related experience; OR 
  • Two-year diploma in business, management or a related discipline from a recognized post-secondary institution and six years of related experience; OR 
  • One-year certificate in business, management or a related discipline from a recognized post-secondary institution and seven years of related experience. 
  • Active certification in CAPM, PMP or PgMP as issued by the Project Management Institute or equivalent and/or an active CMC designation as issued by a member institute of the International Council of Management Consulting Institutes or equivalent. 
  • 5 years’ experience conducting, facilitating and interpreting impact and risk assessments across multiple scenarios. 
  • 5 years’ experience in managing projects within a large and complex public sector environment.  
  • 5 years’ experience in quantitative and qualitative analysis of costs and benefits 
  • 5 years’ experience with business writing, communication and documentation. 
  • 5 years’ experience with information management concepts, privacy, and security issues relating to FOIP. 
  • 5 years’ experience with the development of communications plans. 
Desirable Requirements
  • Active professional certification or accreditation in a related discipline from a recognized issuing body.
  • 2 years’ experience evaluating policies, programs, and initiatives using program development principles
  • 2 years’ experience in the design, development and implementation of a digital transformation initiative or digital delivery program
  • 5 years’ experience with financial reporting and modeling.
  • 5 years’ experience with the development of business cases for a wide variety of initiatives and projects (strategic, business improvement, information technology, etc.).
  • 5 years’ experience working with system stakeholders in the development and maintenance of IT applications.
