Our client requires an intermediate UX Designer to design and build user centered interfaces for web applications under their one access program. This role blends UX design and front end development, taking concepts from wireframes and prototypes through to implemented interfaces using HTML, CSS/SASS, and JavaScript.
The UX Designer will support the ongoing design, enhancement, and upkeep of applications and web content, working closely with product, development, and business teams to deliver accessible, responsive, and standards aligned user experiences.
Work is onsite at client location in Toronto, ON.

Mandatory Requirements
Mandatory Requirements Include:
- 5+ years’ proven experience designing UX interfaces for web applications
- 5+ years’ strong hands-on experience translating designs into HTML, CSS/SASS, and JavaScript
- 5+ years demonstrated proficiency with Adobe XD or similar wireframing/prototyping tools
- 5+ years’ experience supporting content updates, UI enhancements, and ongoing upkeep of web applications, including use of WordPress or similar CMS platforms
- 5+ years’ strong understanding of responsive and accessible web design principles
- Experience / Knowledge of agile project management practices
- Must provide an on-line portfolio
Required Skills:
- UX design experience using Adobe XD or similar wireframing tools
- Strong front end development skills in HTML, CSS/SASS, and JavaScript
- Experience working with WordPress or similar CMS platforms
- Experience maintaining and updating web application content and layouts
- Understanding of responsive, accessible, and user centered design principles
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in cross functional teams
- Strong communication skills to explain design decisions and technical constraints
Desirable Requirements
- Public Sector experience
- Experience designing interfaces for public facing or enterprise web applications
- Experience working in health, health IT, or regulated environments
- Familiarity with design systems and reusable component libraries
- Experience collaborating closely with development teams in Agile environments
- Understanding of cross browser compatibility and performance considerations
- Experience applying WCAG or accessibility best practices
- Strong visual design sensibility combined with technical problem solving skills
