Our client requires a data analyst to provide hands-on analytical support during data model design and build phases, ensuring enterprise data models accurately reflect real-world business operations. Resource will focus on validating canonical data elements, Unified Business Objects, and core data models using large-scale environmental and regulatory datasets. Success in this role requires work with data quality, semantic consistency, and scalability to support cross-program analytics and reporting.
Resource will work remotely but must work onsite at the client location once a month when there is a scheduled meeting. Standard Hours of work are 08:15 – 16:30 Alberta time. Work must be done from within Alberta, due to network and data security issues. Resource is responsible to pay for travel to on-site meetings.

Mandatory Requirements
- A degree/diploma in business or IT, or Certified Business Analysis Professional from the International Institute of Business Analysis (Proof of the degree/diploma to be provided)
- 3 years direct, hands-on experience performing business requirement analysis, solution architecture and design, and deployment related to data analysis, data analytics, data visualization, data science, data mining.
- 3 years direct, hands-on experience performing business requirement analysis related to data manipulation/transformation, cleansing and wrangling.
- 3 years direct hands-on experience designing, developing, and optimizing advanced Power BI solutions that transform regulated and complex datasets into actionable insights for policy, operations and executive reporting
Desirable Requirements
- 3 years demonstrated ability to lead initiatives, facilitate workshops, and communicate effectively with senior management and cross-functional stakeholders; includes planning, estimation, presenting data and AI solutions and standards, and risk assessments.
- 3 years demonstrated ability to work directly with senior leadership. Including Service Owners, Service Directors, Executive Directors, and Architecture Review Boards—actively shaping data platform strategy, validating solution direction, and aligning architectural decisions with organizational priorities and enterprise technology standards.
- 3 years’ experience assessing and documenting gaps in data governance frameworks, including policy, procedures, standards, and solutions through current-state analysis.
- 3 years’ experience gathering requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases or scenarios, business analysis, and business process modeling.
