Our client requires a part-time Data Architect to join the client’s Justice Information Management System (JIMS) 3.0 project, a data integration project aimed to amalgamate, re-design and implement several disjointed reporting data marts containing court data into an Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) and a set of dependent data mart and views. This project will replace the existing six stand-alone IBM Cognos BI data marts JIMS, Crown File Ownership (CFO), Court Case Management (CCM), Courtroom Utilization, Courtroom Activity, and Case Adjournment) with a well-integrated data warehouse. The existing data marts extract, process, re-structure and aggregate data required for strategic, operational and ad hoc reporting of court data stored in the Justice Online Information Network (JOIN) database. The goal of the project is to evolve availability, governance and reporting of court data by implementing a more efficient, user-friendly, faster and cost-effective reporting architecture.

The Data Architect will review existing data marts, perform detailed data profiling, analyze and create design and mapping specifications, identify Dimensions required for Facts, and complete detailed data profiling of tables included in Facts. The Data Architect will then develop and test Extract Transform Load (ETL) processes, develop Power BI reports for testing for several Dimensions, test Dimensions and Fact for quality assurance, update JOIN as-is data models for new Fact attributes, stage the required data, address minor fixes in delivered data marts, and provide feedback and lessons learned at project close out.

The role is part-time, with an estimated 3.63 hours/day and an estimated 18.13 hrs/week.

Resource will work remotely but must be available to be on-site when requested for meetings. Work must be done from within Canada, due to network and data security issues. Resource is responsible to pay for travel to on-site meetings.
