Our client requires the services of an experienced C, PowerBuilder and Sybase application system analyst, that preferably has experience with Oil and Gas regulation. The System Analyst will be assigned requirements gathering & programming duties for application projects and enhancement tasks. The individual will also work closely with application development and maintenance teams. In addition, the system analyst will work directly with subject matter experts in the business areas for application testing and remediation to ensure code functions as per specification. This system analyst will be assigned to work on implementation of the Gas Royalty in Kind (GRIK) program and maintenance projects.
Resource will work hybrid with 3 days per week onsite and must be available to be on-site when requested for meetings. Standard Hours of work are 08:15 – 16:30 Alberta time. Work must be done from within Alberta, due to network and data security issues. Resource is responsible to pay for travel to on-site meetings.

Mandatory Requirements
- Must meet or exceed one of the following:
- University graduation: Computer Science (CS), Computer Engineering (CE), Information Technology (IT) or related discipline & 4 yr related experience;
- 2 yr diploma: CS, CE, IT or related discipline & 6 yr related experience;
- 1 yr certificate: CS, CE, IT or related discipline & 7 yr related experience;
- current active professional certification or accreditation in related discipline from a recognized issuing body & 7 yr related experience.
- 5 years’ experience with software development processes and all associated best practices, methods, standards, tools and policies.
- 5 years’ experience working as an Application Developer in a large enterprise IT environment utilizing Sybase, C, Solaris 11/RedHat.
- 5 years’ experience with C on the Solaris/RedHat platform
- 5 years’ experience with Sybase, imbedded SQL code, stored procedures, data modelling, and reporting services.
- 5 years’ experience working with end-users – confirming requirements, supporting testing and maintain documentation.
Desirable Requirements
- 3 years’ experience in the analysis, development, and integration of complex IT systems with a specific focus on the management of multiple data sources, web services, and legacy IT solutions.
- 3 years’ experience with unit testing and test-driven development tools.
- 3 years’ experience using C# and Visual Studio.
- 3 years’ experience developing and using Infomaker and PowerBuilder
- 3 years’ experience with enterprise level job automation software and tools such as AutoSys.
- 3 years’ experience developing and maintaining utilities using kornshell and perl scripts.
